Annie Dahr Nygaard as the “Orange Girl” herself (…) has a presence and – eventually – a raw and courageous sensuality that provides enough untainted energy to explain and maintain the film’s fundamental tension.

Jon Selås, VG

Annie’s passion for acting took off on a public stage when she was only 14 years old, in Oslo Nye Theater’s production of “The Good Person of Szechwan”. In the following years, she appeared in several short films and made her debut as the lead actress in the feature film “The Orange Girl” (Helgeland Film, 2009).

She holds a BA in Theatre Production and Acting from Nord University, where she graduated in 2012. Immediately after, she embarked on a three-year world tour with the French company Cie Philippe Genty in the production “Forget Me Not” before settling in Oslo. Here, she has worked with several companies and theaters, while continuing her work in film. Additionally, she writes and produces her own performances with the company Phosphorous Flames.

Annie loves to contribute her talent to fulfill the creative ambitions of others, while always looking for opportunities to challenge herself and learn new things. She often engages in co-creative processes and enjoys being part of an ensemble. In such work situations, she sees making the group function optimally as an equally important part of the job as embodying and managing her role.

From the fall of 2024 to the spring of 2026, Annie will be pursuing an MA in Theater at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, specializing in acting.

Annie is a hardworking, dedicated, and skilled actress who has my highest recommendation. She is naturally very positive, solution-oriented, and demonstrates excellent rapport with children. This is also reflected in feedback from both the children and the educators in the kindergartens.

Kari Ramnefjell, artistic director Unge Viken Teater, 2024

Annie has a strong presence and attentiveness to all the factors that make up the performance. She is capable of both giving and receiving focus and input from fellow actors and the audience. Her character portrayal carries a genuine playfulness that also shows vulnerability and complexity.
